Comprehensive Oral Surgery in a Caring Environment
Dr. Johnson manages and treats surgical conditions affecting the teeth, mouth, and facial regions. Common conditions that his patients seek help for include the removal of wisdom and impacted teeth, dental implants, dental extractions, orthognathic (corrective) jaw surgery, and oral pathology.
An oral and maxillofacial surgeon is a dentist who has usually done an additional year of hospital dentistry followed by a multi-year specialty and residency program involving surgery, medical rotations, and anaesthesia training. Dr. Johnson has been serving patients in the greater Ottawa area since opening his Kanata office in 1988.
Understanding Our Patients' Needs
In our office, we are well aware that the majority of our patients will harbour some degree of anxiety and apprehension regarding the procedures that they require. Our focus is to create a caring and friendly environment with attention to the individual needs and concerns of each of our patients. The majority of Dr. Johnson’s procedures are performed with deep sedation or general anaesthesia under carefully monitored conditions. The extent of the surgical procedure and a comprehensive medical assessment help Dr. Johnson determine whether the procedure should be performed within our office or by Dr. Johnson in a hospital setting.
Contact Our Office to Schedule Your Consultation
Dr. Johnson will usually see his patients in consultation to assess, diagnose, and discuss potential treatment options prior to scheduling a surgical appointment. Although most of his patients are referred by their dentist, dental specialist, or physician, patients with obvious surgical concerns can also contact us directly. All patients have the right to request that they be treated by a specialist and that they be seen by the specialist of their choice.
